FIN 412 : Credit Analysis
Prerequisites: Senior Standing
This course gives an introduction to the lending process followed by banks. It helps the student understand the various steps involved in loan appraisal, the components of a bank›s lending policy, loan documentation, loan pricing and profitability analysis, and regulations related to lending. It is designed to provide a working understanding of financial analysis of credit risk with special focus on the impact of financial reporting. Topics include analysis of credit risk, ratio analysis and forecasting, equity versus debt analysis, reformulation of the balance sheet and income statement as well as of the cash flow statement, quality of earnings analysis, and liquidity planning and financial strategy.
