MIS 350 : Data Management
Prerequisites: MIS 360
This course introduces the concepts and principles of database management systems from a business information system approach. The course discusses the components of relational database and information systems. Students gain experience in designing, analyzing, understanding, correcting, implementing, and testing a database application for a real-life situation/example of the business of their choice. The course also covers database theories, conceptual data modeling techniques, database management, and database development practice with emphasis on relational database systems. Topics include information systems design, entity relationship data model, data planning, data administration, SQL, relational theories, distributed databases, database development project, data security, and integrity.
