FIN 421 : Financial Derivatives

Prerequisites: Senior Standing

This course provides a solid foundation in the principles of derivatives. It attempts to strike a balance between institutional details, theoretical foundations, and practical applications. Topics to be covered in this course include the analysis of derivative securities, pricing of options and futures contracts, arbitrage, hedging, spreads, portfolio insurance, and the use of derivatives for financial risk management. Students who take this course will be equipped with the necessary skills to value and employ futures, options, and other related financial instruments.
