CSC 201 : Introduction to Computer Systems

This course introduces students to the world of computers and computing. The course highlights major evolutions in the history of computers and computing. The course also handles issues related to understanding the computer systems and its basic hardware and software, terminology, and networking principles. An emphasis is on the role of computers in problem-solving, thus introducing basic problem-solving techniques such as flowcharts and algorithms. Digital security and ergonomics are also covered. A major part of the course will be covering ethics and social responsibility theory and application.
