ENG 208 : Language Study for Secondary Education

Prerequisites: ENG 102, passed with Distinction

This advanced course in English language has two focus areas. First, it develops students’ understanding of English by examining morphology, phonology, and syntax, and their relation to semantics. Second, the course explores key ideas in linguistics: language origin, language change, and language acquisition. It has a strong emphasis on practical applications for secondary teachers, including the analysis and production of discourse.
