BIO 411 : Microbiology

Prerequisites: BIO 305

This course explores structure, function, and taxonomy of microbes, besides their relationships to health and disease. Basic knowledge on isolation, classification, and the various metabolic processes is included. Structure, genetics, metabolism, growth and division, and prokaryotic experimental systems are examined. Laboratory exercises will include sterile techniques, culture, microscopy, and identification of bacterial specimens.
