MGT 470 : Operations Management
Prerequisites: STA 201, Senior Standing or permission of dept. chair
This course provides an integrated and comprehensive view of operations in both the manufacturing and service-oriented sectors. Major sections covered are operations design, planning and control, and operations improvement. The course also covers the strategic tools that will enable analysis of day-to-day operations, forecasting, location, layout, planning, scheduling, productivity, and quality. Other topics such as purchasing raw material, controlling inventories, acquiring and maintaining the facilities and processes, and providing the proper labor needed to produce goods or services will also be covered.
