MIS 430 : Quantitative Methods for Business Decisions

Prerequisites: STA 201

This course covers quantitative and analytic concepts from statistics to operations research, which are useful in support of managerial decision-making. It is designed to provide students with a sound conceptual understanding of the role that management science plays in the decision-making process. Topics include different types of quantitative methods, spreadsheet modeling, mathematical programming, decision theory, and statistical process control. The course also covers linear programming, simplex method, transportation problems, network flows, queuing theory, and inventory analysis. Students will be exposed to computer applications using pre-programmed software packages to solve business problems.
