FIN 411 : Security Analysis and Portfolio Management

Co-requisites: FIN 302

This course introduces the student to conventional and state-of-the-art tools currently employed in the asset management industry. Students will examine the process of creating, maintaining, and evaluating profitable investment portfolios through a series of lectures, projects, and case analysis. Topics include concept, objectives, methods of investment, financial markets, valuation of securities, analysis of risk and return, fundamental and technical analysis of equity, concept of intrinsic value, behavior of stock market prices, modern portfolio theory and asset allocation decision, and portfolio performance evaluation.
