MGT 330 : Small Business Management
Prerequisites: MGT 201, STA 201, FIN 301, MKT 201, or permission of dept. chair.
The course examines the tools that are required to launch a new small business successfully. Emphasis is placed on what a manager needs to know to run a successful new venture. It allows students to develop a marketing plan, an advertising plan, and a business plan in general. Topics covered in this course are challenges of entrepreneurship, building a business plan, marketing considerations, e-commerce and the entrepreneur, advertising and pricing for profit, financial considerations and managing cash flow, building a competitive edge, and debt/equity and site and location considerations.
