ENG 209 : The Rise of the Novel, 1700-1820

Prerequisites: ENG 102, passed with distinction. Failing to pass ENG102 with distinction will force an automatic change of major to primary or early childhood education.

This is a course for Secondary English specialists. The course examines the historical context of the rise of the novel, the role of the novel in 18th century society, and the narrative forms used in early modern fiction. Specific topics, reading lists, and course outlines will be published annually.
